Med: part 5 Last Paragraph

Here Descarte say how he finally clearly understood everything about every science when he came upon the "true God". Im not really sure if i understand what he meant when he said this because science and God are most of the time not compared to each other. But i can see where he could say something of this nature since he says that God was the one who is responsible for all that has ever exsisted. I think that God and science are conflicting subjects but most of what i have read of descarte has some type of conflicting subject in it.

Interesting...maybe this is some proof in his writing of the "true God" representing something other than what we think.

I think that Descartes showed the difference in God and nature.

i like how Descartes stated, finally, that he clearly understood everything about science when he came upon the "true God"...I think that when many people find the "true God" in their life and become connected with him spiritually, through their body and mind, they can accomplish many things, in fact, they can probably accomplish anything. God is most definitely, I think, responsible for all that has ever existed, he is the creator of our world as we know it...

I definately agree with you marina. People who are religious are generally happier. Those who have faith are comfortable in their lives and feel that this life is not the end of the road. However, unfortunately Descartes mixes his faith with science and that cannot be done. Science is based on principles and laws that are proven. You cannot prove God's existence since it involves faith. Thus, you cannot have something you cannot prove at the base of all truths.
